The quarantine period for COVID-19 depends on the situation and vaccination status of the individual. According to the CDC, people who are unvaccinated or are more than six months out from their second mRNA dose (or more than 2 months after the J&J vaccine) and not yet boosted should quarantine for 5 days followed by strict mask use for an additional 5 days if they are exposed to COVID-19. If someone tests positive for COVID-19, they should isolate for at least 5 days and wear a high-quality mask if they must be around others at home and in public.
