The rarest blood type in the world is the Rhnull blood type, also known as the "golden blood" type. It is incredibly rare, with fewer than 50 known cases ever reported globally. People with Rhnull blood lack all Rh antigens on their red blood cells, making it unique and extremely valuable for transfusions for individuals with rare blood types. Because of its rarity, there are only a handful of active donors worldwide, making Rhnull blood very precious and difficult to obtain. Other very rare blood types include AB negative (AB−), which is the rarest of the eight common blood types, and the Bombay blood group (HH blood type), which is also extremely rare and mostly found in certain regions like Bombay and parts of India.
