Ahsoka Tano, a character from the Star Wars universe, is a Togruta, a species known for their unique head appendages. These appendages consist of two main parts: the montrals, which are protrusions on top of the head, and the lekku, also known as "head tails". The lekku are fleshy, large flaps of folded skin that hang down from the back of the head. They are a distinctive feature of Togruta and Twilek species in the Star Wars universe.
The triangular pieces on Ahsoka's headdress are akul teeth, which she gained as a trophy for single-handedly defeating one of the predatory animals on the Togruta homeworld. Jedi Master Shaak Ti also sports a similar headdress, indicating that it may be a mark of great prowess among the Togruta.
