A voice vote, also known as a viva voce vote or acclamation, is a voting method used in deliberative assemblies, such as legislatures, where a group vote is taken on a topic or motion by responding vocally. In a voice vote, the chairperson of the assembly puts the question by saying, "The question is on the adoption of the motion to [or "that"] ... [repeating or clearly identifying the motion]. Those in favor of the motion, say aye. [Pausing for response,] Those opposed, say no." Alternatively, the chairperson may use the forms "All those in favor..." and "All those opposed...".

During a voice vote, the relative strength of the ayes and noes is estimated based on the volume and clarity of the responses, rather than a formal counting of ballots or a roll call. This voting method is typically used for motions that do not require more than a majority vote for adoption.
