Thought tracking is a drama strategy that enables the audience to listen to a characters inner thoughts at a particular moment in the drama. It is also called thought tapping. In thought tracking, a character steps out of a scene to address the audience about how they're feeling. The workshop leader freezes the action and taps individuals on the shoulder for them to reveal their inner thoughts. This is usually in the first person, for example, "I always have to scrub the floor". Thought tracking is a quick-fire strategy that enables children to verbally express their understanding of characters and their feelings.
