In PowerPoint, a transition is a visual effect that occurs when you move from one slide to the next during a presentation
. Transitions can be simple, such as fading to the next slide, or more elaborate, like an eye-catching effect
. They can be applied to an entire slide, and only one transition effect can be applied to a slide
. To create or edit a transition effect, you can use the Transitions tab in PowerPoint
. There are three main categories of transitions to choose from, and you can find them on the Transitions tab
:
- Entrance effects : These make an object appear.
- Exit effects : These make an object disappear.
- Morph transitions : These create smooth movement of objects from one position or size to another
To apply a transition effect to a slide, follow these steps
:
- Select the slide you want to add a transition to.
- Select the Transitions tab and choose a transition.
- Select a transition to see a preview.
- Select Effect Options to choose the direction and nature of the transition (not every transition has Effect Options).
- Select Preview to see what the transition looks like.
Remember that transitions should be used in moderation, as adding too many can make your presentation look unprofessional
