Translatory motion, also known as translational motion, refers to the motion in which all points of a moving body move uniformly in the same direction. This means that there is no change in the objects orientation as it moves. An example of translatory motion is when a solid block slides down the edge of a right-angled triangle, and every point in the block experiences the same displacement. Another example is a train moving on its track or a person walking on the road. Translational motion can be further classified into rectilinear motion, where an object moves along a straight line, and curvilinear motion, where the object moves along a curved path.
