A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in a persons passport to show that they meet the requirements to enter Canada. It is also referred to as a visitor visa or entry visa. A TRV is usually issued for the same length of time as a persons study or work permit and allows them to travel to Canada, but it does not give them any status inside Canada. The TRV is a sticker that is pasted into a persons passport. In Mexico, a temporary resident visa is the first step if someone wants to stay in Mexico for more than 180 days and less than 4 years.
