TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program offered by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that allows eligible travelers to go through security checkpoints faster and with less hassle. TSA PreCheck members do not need to remove shoes, belts, light jackets, laptops, or 3-1-1 compliant bags. TSA PreCheck is available to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who apply and are approved for the program, as well as members of other trusted traveler programs such as Global Entry and NEXUS. The initial application fee is $78 for the first five years, and it can be renewed for $70 online thereafter. Some credit cards offer reimbursement for the application fee.
