In India, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) rates films based on their content and issues four certificates: U, A, UA, and S. The U certificate stands for "unrestricted public exhibition" and indicates that the film is suitable for all audiences, including children. Films with the U certification are family-friendly and can contain universal themes like education, family, drama, romance, sci-fi, action, etc. These films can also contain some mild violence, but it cannot be prolonged. It may also contain very mild sexual scenes (without any traces of nudity or sexual detail) . The U certificate is equivalent to the BBFCs U rating, which stands for "universal" and means that the film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over.
