On the other hand, non-uniform motion is defined as the motion of an object in which the object travels with varied speed and it does not cover the same distance in equal time intervals, irrespective of the time interval duration. In non-uniform motion, the acceleration of the body must be non-zero. An example of non-uniform motion is a vehicle starting from rest, its velocity increasing for some time, then the velocity becoming constant for some time, and finally slowing down as well as coming to rest.
Uniform and non-uniform motion are two types of motion that are categorized based on the velocity of an object. Uniform motion is characterized by constant velocity, while non-uniform motion is characterized by varying velocity.
