VBS can refer to two different things: Vacation Bible School and Virtualization-based Security.

Vacation Bible School is a week-long religious event usually held in the summer by churches to provide religious education to elementary school-aged children. It typically includes Bible stories, religious songs, arts and crafts, skits, and puppet shows, and is meant to bring in children who don’t normally attend church and to teach them the gospel.

Virtualization-based Security (VBS) is a technology that uses hardware virtualization and the Windows hypervisor to create an isolated virtual environment that becomes the root of trust of the OS. It aims to protect system resources and security solutions from vulnerabilities in the OS and exploits like malware by enforcing certain restrictions in the isolated environment. VBS is supported on all versions of Windows beginning with Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016, and is on by default in Windows 11.
