Vocational rehabilitation services are designed to help individuals with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. The goal of vocational rehabilitation is to help individuals with disabilities achieve full integration into society by returning to work and experiencing full integration into society.

To be eligible for vocational rehabilitation services, an individual must have some form of disability that is preventing employment retention. Eligible individuals can receive counseling services, guidance, and rehabilitation services, as well as financial and housing services. The vocational rehabilitation process is individualized, and the individual needs to benefit from the services and be able to succeed in employment goals.

The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) provides vocational rehabilitation services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors. OVR counselors work with individuals to select their choice of vocational goals, services, and service providers. The services provided by OVR are designed to increase an individuals independence and employability.
