VoWiFi stands for Voice over WiFi, which means that calls, SMS, and MMS are transmitted over the internet instead of traditional cellular networks. It works with the existing SIM card and through the default phone dialer and messaging app without any need for a third-party app or login. VoWiFi can result in superior indoor coverage and better call quality in congested urban areas. It is similar to VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and displays an indicator in the phones status bar. The recipient can be on any network, be it 2G/3G/4G/VoLTE/WiFi. Jio and Airtel users can seamlessly use the Jio WiFi calling feature to support both Voice (VoWiFi) and Video calls over any Wi-Fi network. Vivo and iQoo phones also support VoWiFi, and there are tutorials available on how to use it.
