The movie "Mamma Mia!" was filmed on the Greek islands of Skopelos and Skiathos, both of which are part of the Northern Sporades island group. Most of the outdoor scenes, particularly those featuring beautiful beaches with crystal clear azure waters and incredible mountainous landscapes and cliffs, were shot on the unspoiled island of Skopelos. Skopelos is the fictional island of Kalokairi in the movie. The church wedding scene was filmed at Agios Ioannis in Castri, the beach scene was filmed at Kastani, and the view from the house was at the area nisi Glisteri. The seaside village of Damouchari in Pelion was also used as a filming location. Its worth noting that the sequel, "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again," was filmed in Croatia, not Greece.
