Lucifer was traditionally considered a seraph, which is the highest order of angels known for being closest to God. Some sources also describe him as a cherub or an archangel; however, the seraph designation is the most commonly attributed. He was the most beloved and highest angel before his fall due to pride and rebellion against God. According to Christian theology and some biblical interpretations, Lucifer was a "light-bearer" or "morning star" and was cast out of heaven after rebelling. The fall story is mainly derived from interpretations of Isaiah 14:12 and Ezekiel 28, which metaphorically describe a proud angelic being's descent. Additionally, some believe Lucifer was one of the chief worship angels or one of three archangels before his fall, leading to one-third of the angels rebelling with him.
