The plant that exploded in Tennessee was an explosives manufacturing facility called Accurate Energetic Systems. It specialized in the development, manufacturing, and storage of explosives including TNT for military and commercial uses. The explosion happened at this military explosives plant and resulted in significant destruction and fatalities, with at least 16 people confirmed dead and no survivors found after the blast. The facility was located in rural Tennessee near McEwen, approximately 50-60 miles southwest of Nashville. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation by federal agencies including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
