Carne asada is a type of grilled and sliced beef, commonly made from skirt steak, flank steak, or flap steak. Sometimes chuck steak (diezmillo) is also used. These cuts are chosen for their beefy flavor and quick cooking properties. The meat is typically marinated with citrus juices, garlic, seasonings, and sometimes soy sauce before being grilled and sliced thinly against the grain for serving, often in tacos or burritos.
