According to various sources, iOS 17 will introduce a diverse collection of new emojis, including 108 new characters. Some of the new emojis include:
- Shaking head vertically and horizontally
- Phoenix bird
- Lime
- Brown mushroom
- Broken chain
- Four new family emoji combinations
- Updates to six people emoji that now have direction specifications such as facing right or facing left
It is important to note that the final list of updated emojis will be approved in September 2023. After approval, it takes several months for smartphone makers like Apple to design artwork for the emojis and add them to iOS. Therefore, we can expect to see the new emojis in a future version of iOS 17, possibly in early 2024.
