Chandrayaan-3 is a lunar mission launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to land a rover on the Moons south pole. The mission landed near the Moon's south pole on August 23, 2023, and its expected lifetime is one lunar day, or about two Earth weeks. Although the mission is now officially asleep, mission controllers hope to reawaken the spacecraft on September 22, 2023.
As for the future of Chandrayaan-3, there is currently no information available on whether there will be any follow-up missions or if the data collected from the mission will be used for future research. However, India is set to launch its next space venture, a mission to study the sun and its effect on space weather, in the coming days after the historical landing of Chandrayaan-3.
