. The storm caused widespread damage across central and southwestern Florida, including severe flooding, power outages affecting over 3 million homes and buildings, and multiple fatalities in several counties such as St. Lucie, Volusia, Pinellas, Citrus, Polk, Orange, Hillsborough, and Charlotte
. The hurricane also caused significant infrastructure damage, including the loss of roofs at airports and buildings, and forced closures of schools, airports, and theme parks in the affected areas
