what percent of our brain do we use

The idea that humans only use 10% of their brains is a common myth, deeply entrenched in popular culture and often stated as fact in books and movies. However, this is not entirely true. Research suggests that people use most of their brain, and the majority of the brain is almost always active. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has shown that most of our brain is in use most of the time, even when a person is performing a very simple action, and a lot of the brain is active even when a person is resting or sleeping. The percentage of the brain in use at any given time varies from person to person and depends on what a person is doing or thinking about. Therefore, it is inaccurate to claim that we only use 10% of our brain. Each section of the brain specializes in different functions, and over the course of a day, just about every part of the brain is used. In fact, even people with degenerative neural disorders such as Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease still use more than 10% of their brains. Therefore, the statement that all parts of the brain contribute to our mental life and behavior, so we are always using more than 10% of our brain, is true.
