Florida is in the Southeastern region of the United States. More specifically, Florida can be divided into four main regions within the state:
- The Panhandle (northwestern part)
- Northeastern Florida
- Central Florida
- South Florida
These regions vary in culture, climate, and economy. The Panhandle is culturally tied to the rest of the American South. South Florida has strong Caribbean cultural influences. Central Florida is well known for tourism (like Orlando and Tampa). Northeast Florida includes Jacksonville and has a mix of rural and industrial areas. Overall, Florida is geographically in the southern part of the U.S., in the Southeast region.
