Six Flags is closing one park at the end of the 2025 season:
- Six Flags America and its waterpark Hurricane Harbor in Bowie, Maryland, will permanently close on November 2, 2025. This marks the end of 25 years of operation for this location
The closure is part of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation’s strategy to streamline and optimize its portfolio. The nearly 500-acre site will be sold for redevelopment, as the parks do not align with the company’s long-term growth plans
. Currently, Six Flags America employs about 70 full-time staff members who will be eligible for severance and other benefits. Tickets and season passes will remain valid through the end of the 2025 season
. No other Six Flags parks have been announced for closure at this time.
