He was later adopted by the Mitth family, changing his name to Mitthrawnuruodo, which is his full name. Thrawn is a Grand Admiral in the Imperial Navy and a tactical genius whose troops follow him willingly. He first appeared in the 1991 Timothy Zahn novel "Heir to the Empire," which is part of the Star Wars Legends collection. However, he has since been reintroduced into the canonical expanded universe.
