The only sport ever played on the surface of the moon is golf, which was played by astronaut Alan Shepard during the Apollo 14 mission in 1971. Shepard used a makeshift 6-iron club to hit two golf balls, with the second ball traveling "miles and miles and miles". Shepards colleague, Edgar Mitchell, also threw a lunar scoop handle like a javelin. Therefore, apart from golf, no other sport has been played on the moon.
