E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection system used on most tolled roads, bridges, and tunnels in the Midwestern and Eastern United States. The E-ZPass Interagency Group consists of 39 member agencies in 17 different states. These states include:

  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Minnesota
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia

E-ZPass tags are active RFID transponders that communicate with overhead readers and are used to automatically deduct tolls from a prepaid account. Additionally, some airports and parking lots allow customers to use their E-ZPass tag to pay for parking. It is important to note that states outside the E-ZPass Network are not connected in any way with the E-ZPass Network, and E-ZPass transponders will not work in those states, nor will those states transponders work in states within the E-ZPass Network.
