Warren G. Harding conducted a "Return to Normalcy" campaign during the 1920 United States presidential election. He promised to return the country to a state of stability and normalcy after the upheaval of World War I and the progressive policies of Woodrow Wilson. Hardings campaign slogan resonated with voters who were tired of the war and wanted a return to the status quo. He won the election by a landslide, receiving 60.4% of the popular vote.
