An atom is made up of three main particles called subatomic particles:
- Protons : Positively charged particles located in the nucleus (center) of the atom.
- Neutrons : Neutral particles (no charge) also located in the nucleus alongside protons.
- Electrons : Negatively charged particles that orbit around the nucleus in electron clouds or shells.
The protons and neutrons form the dense nucleus at the center of the atom, while electrons surround this nucleus. The positive charge of protons and the negative charge of electrons balance each other in a neutral atom
