what type of cancer did terry fox have

Terry Fox had osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of bone cancer. He was diagnosed at age 18, which led to the amputation of his right leg above the knee in 1977. Despite treatment including chemotherapy, the cancer later spread to his lungs, forcing him to stop his Marathon of Hope run across Canada. Osteosarcoma was the cancer that ultimately claimed his life in 1981.
