Charlie Kirk was a prominent right-wing American conservative political activist, author, and media personality. He is best known for co-founding Turning Point USA (TPUSA) in 2012, a conservative organization aimed at mobilizing and influencing young people, particularly on college campuses, to support conservative principles such as free markets, limited government, and traditional values. Kirk was a key figure in the populist MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement aligned with Donald Trump. He actively promoted conservative stances on issues such as gun rights, opposition to abortion and LGBTQ rights, and criticized what he saw as left-wing ideology in education. He also advocated Christian nationalism and spread various controversial views including COVID-19 misinformation and claims of electoral fraud in 2020. Kirk was a highly visible conservative voice with a large social media presence and hosted a talk radio show. Tragically, Charlie Kirk was shot and killed in September 2025 while speaking at a college event for Turning Point USA at Utah Valley University. His activism left a significant impact on conservative youth politics in the United States.
