Sebastian is a major character in Disneys 1989 animated feature film The Little Mermaid. He is a red, Jamaican-accented crab who serves as King Triton's advisor and court composer. Although some of Sebastian's features resemble a lobster, he is definitely a crab, as is stated in The Little Mermaid itself a few times. Sebastian is one of Disney's most entertaining sidekicks and has appeared in several Little Mermaid movies and TV shows, as well as the Kingdom Hearts games. In the upcoming 2023 live-action Little Mermaid, Sebastian will be voiced by Tony- and Grammy-winning rapper, actor, and filmmaker Daveed Diggs.
