The hospital closest to the Twin Towers was St. Vincent's Hospital, located in Greenwich Village at 12th Street and 7th Avenue, about one mile north of the World Trade Center. It was the nearest hospital with a level one trauma center and received a large number of patients on 9/11, including 543 patients with various injuries and conditions related to the attack
