Graduates of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) take different paths depending on the component they completed:
- Graduates of the Literacy Training Service (LTS) and Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) components become members of the National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC). They may be called upon by the State to participate in literacy, civic welfare, and community service activities, especially during times of calamities or emergencies
- Graduates of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) component become part of the Citizen Armed Force and may be mobilized for national defense preparedness
The NSTP aims to promote civic consciousness, nationalism, and public service among youth, developing their physical, moral, intellectual, and social well- being. After graduation, NSTP graduates are recognized as valuable resources for community and national service, with formal ceremonies marking their transition into the NSRC for non-ROTC graduates
. In summary, NSTP graduates either serve as reservists for national defense (ROTC) or as active volunteers in community development and emergency response (LTS and CWTS) under the National Service Reserve Corps.
