You can play Starfield on Xbox Game Pass starting from its official release date, September 6, 2023, but only if you have the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. If you have the standard Xbox Game Pass (non-Ultimate), Starfield became available on the Game Pass Standard tier on February 5, 2025. So, for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, Starfield has been playable since September 6, 2023. For those with the new Game Pass Standard tier, it became available almost a year and a half later, on February 5, 2025.
Also, note that Starfield is playable on Xbox Series X|S natively, and on Xbox One via cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
