Ed Gein was caught on November 16, 1957, after the disappearance of Bernice Worden, a local hardware store owner. Police found her decapitated body on Gein's property along with other human remains and bizarre items made from human skin and bones. He was arrested that evening and later confessed to killing Worden and another woman, Mary Hogan, whose remains were also found in his home.
