India last hosted the Asian Games (Asiad) in 1982. The 9th edition of the Asian Games was held in New Delhi from November 19 to December 4, 1982. This was the second time India hosted the Games, the first being the inaugural Asian Games in 1951, also in New Delhi. Since then, India has not hosted the Asian Games again.
