The Bandung Conference of Asian and African countries was held from April 18 to April 24, 1955, in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. This historic meeting brought together representatives from 29 Asian and African countries and aimed to promote economic and cultural cooperation as well as to oppose colonialism and neocolonialism. The conference was organized by Indonesia, Burma (Myanmar), India, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), and Pakistan, and it marked a significant step toward the creation of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
