Babies typically start to roll over between 4 and 7 months old. Most begin rolling from tummy to back around 4-5 months and then from back to tummy around 5-7 months. Some babies might show signs as early as 3 months, but intentional rolling usually develops closer to 4 months. By about 7 months, most babies can roll both ways confidently. The strength and motor skills needed for rolling over develop gradually, often supported by tummy time and muscle building during the first months of life. If a baby hasn't started rolling by 6 to 7 months, it's usually recommended to discuss with a pediatrician as each baby's development pace can be different.
