Bluebirds typically begin laying eggs between February and April, depending on the region. In warmer southern states, egg-laying starts in February and March, while in northern and colder states, it usually begins in March and April. The female bluebird lays one egg each day for about 4 to 6 days, starting roughly 6 to 7 days after the nest is completed. Most bluebirds lay 4 to 5 eggs per clutch but can have up to 7 eggs occasionally. Bluebirds may have multiple broods in a season, with some raising up to three or more broods.
