Cats typically stop growing between 12 to 18 months of age. Female cats usually finish growing around 10 to 12 months, while male cats may continue growing closer to 18 months. Larger breeds like Maine Coons or Norwegian Forest Cats can continue growing up to 2 years or even as late as 4 years in some cases. Smaller breeds might stop growing as early as 9 months. After this period, growth slows significantly, and any further size increase is usually due to gaining weight rather than actual growth in bone size or length.
