Pigeons typically lay eggs about 7 to 10 days after mating. A female pigeon usually lays two eggs per clutch, with a one-day gap between the first and second egg. They can lay eggs multiple times a year, producing up to 12 clutches annually under optimal conditions. Pigeons breed year-round, especially in warm environments, but peak seasons are usually spring to early summer and again in late summer to fall. Each incubation period for the eggs lasts around 17 to 19 days before the chicks hatch. After the young pigeons leave the nest (around 4 weeks), the parents can start the cycle again almost immediately.
