My Hero Academia: Vigilantes takes place approximately five to six years before the events of the original My Hero Academia series when Izuku Midoriya (Deku) attends U.A. High School. This prequel story is set during the time when All Might is still active as the number one hero but is beginning to face the long-term effects of his injuries from fighting All For One. Heroes such as Midnight and Eraserhead are still working as pro heroes without their later roles as teachers. The Vigilantes story is centered around a new cast of characters who operate as unlicensed heroes in a darker, more grounded hero world, prior to Deku's journey beginning.
