when does rick die in the walking dead

Rick Grimes does not die in the TV series The Walking Dead. In Season 9, he is severely injured after blowing up a bridge to stop a walker horde and is presumed dead by the characters and viewers. However, it is later revealed that he survived and was taken away by a Civic Republic Military (CRM) helicopter. This storyline sets up his continuation in the spin-off series "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live." Rick is alive but separated from his family and friends, and efforts to find him are a key plot point. In contrast, Rick Grimes died in the comic book series in issue 192, but this did not happen in the TV adaptation.
