Subnautica 2 is currently planned to be released in Early Access in 2026. Although initially there were plans for a 2025 release, the game experienced delays due to development team changes and further improvements needed before launch. The game will be available on PC and Xbox Series X/S, and it will mark the first time the series supports multiplayer gameplay for up to four players. The development is using Unreal Engine 5, aiming to deliver enhanced graphics and new gameplay features.
