The North Rim of the Grand Canyon officially opens for the 2025 season on Thursday, May 15 at 6 a.m. It usually remains open with full services until October 15, after which it is open for day use only until around November 30, depending on weather conditions. However, for the 2025 season, the North Rim has been closed for the remainder of the year due to damage caused by a wildfire in July 2025.
So, while the standard opening date each year is May 15, in 2025 the North Rim is closed for the rest of the season following the wildfire damage. Normally, the North Rim is accessible and fully operational between mid-May and mid- October.
