Spotify Lossless, offering lossless audio streaming up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz in FLAC format, started rolling out to Spotify Premium subscribers in select markets in September 2025. The rollout will continue gradually to more than 50 countries throughout October 2025. Premium users will receive notifications when the feature becomes available on their accounts. This upgrade is included at no extra cost for Premium subscribers but is not available for free-tier users. Lossless streaming can be used on mobile, desktop, tablets, and supported third-party devices via Spotify Connect. Some compatible audio product brands include Sony, Bose, Samsung, Sennheiser, Denon, Marantz, Bluesound, and Yamaha. Support for Sonos and Amazon devices is expected to come soon after the initial rollout. Users must manually enable lossless audio on each device via Spotify's settings, where they can also control lossless streaming over Wi-Fi or cellular data. Optimal use is recommended over Wi-Fi with wired headphones or speakers, as Bluetooth currently compresses the audio due to bandwidth limits.
