The next major meteor shower in 2025 is the Perseid meteor shower, which is active from July 17 to August 24. The peak of the Perseids will be on the night of August 12, 2025, when the number of meteors will be highest. This shower is known for many bright, fast meteors and is caused by debris from comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle. For the best viewing experience, it's recommended to observe after midnight and in a location with minimal light pollution. Other significant meteor showers in 2025 include:
- Lyrid meteor shower: April 16–25, peaking on April 22/23
- Orionid meteor shower: October 2–November 7, peaking on October 21/22
- Leonid meteor shower: November 6–30, peaking on November 17/18
