The Pope's funeral is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM Rome time (CEST) and will take place in St. Peter's Square, Vatican City. Following the Mass, the burial will occur at the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome, as per the Pope's wishes. The public viewing (lying in state) of the Pope's body is set from Wednesday, April 23 to Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Peter’s Basilica.
