When parking uphill, the correct way to turn your wheels depends on whether there is a curb or not:
- If parking uphill with a curb, turn your wheels away from the curb (to the left if parking on the right side of the road). This way, if the vehicle rolls, it will roll back until the tires gently touch the curb, which acts as a block to prevent rolling into traffic.
- If parking uphill without a curb, turn your wheels towards the right (away from the road) so that if the vehicle rolls, it will roll off the road rather than into traffic.
